As beautiful as it might be, Maltese countryside is often tarnished with endless amounts of litter…
Thankfully, there are a plethora of environmental activists and organisations around the islands that are ready to go out of their way to keep Malta’s environment clean, safe, and accessible.
One of the best-known local environmental activists is none other than fitness enthusiast Mark Galea Pace, who has even launched his very own organisation, Coast is Clear, to execute several clean-ups around hard-to-reach areas in Malta and Gozo.

The organisation’s latest clean-up efforts, which took participants to the Paradise Bay Cliff, captured the attention of local adventurer Raniero, the man behind the ‘Raniero’s Adventures’ Facebook page.
“A clean-up was organised by Mark Galea Pace from Coast is Clear at Paradise Bay Cliff, just oppose South Quay Cirkewwa. This is one of the main areas that needed attention annual due to the currents post-storms,” Raniero wrote.
“As one can see in the video, as this is a cliff which is difficult to access, our volunteers were very dedicated to spend a day assisting. We still managed to clear a large area and gather as much litter as we could,” he continued.
Raniero was present on the day to assist Mark and the other volunteers.
Thank you for your great service to our countryside!
